Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 June 2026
This site, openthings.net, is operated by Rebels Software Sp. z o.o. (Wrocław, Poland; KRS 0000902712), the data controller for any personal data described below. OpenThings is an open-source platform we build; this policy covers the marketing website only.
The short version
This is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, tracking, or advertising. The only personal data we handle is what our server automatically logs, and anything you choose to send us by email.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our web server records standard request data - IP address, browser/user-agent, the page requested, and a timestamp. We use this to operate the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These logs are kept only briefly.
- Email. If you write to us (for example via a Contact or Talk to us link), we receive your email address and whatever you include, and we keep it to reply and follow up. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding, and taking steps at your request before any agreement.
We do not ask for, or use forms to collect, any other personal data on this site.
Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site and our email (such as our hosting and email providers), who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any of these, email hello@rebels.software. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
